GREENWOOD – The No. 16 Lander men's tennis team swept the doubles matches and took five of six singles to defeat Erskine College, 8-1, Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match at the Joe Cabri Courts.
Lander improves to 6-3 overall, while Erskine slips to 3-8.
In singles, No. 1 Nemanja Brcan (E) def. Damien Cordesse, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8; No. 2 Sheharyar Wali (L) def. Caleb Barnes, 6-3, 6-4; No. 3 Levan Clark (L) def. Angelo Ciarrocchi, 6-3, 7-5; No. 4 Juan Manrique (L) def. Faboio Ciarrocchi, 6-1, 6-1; No. 5 Carlos Marques (L) def. Vincent Chauvette, 6-3, 6-4; and No. 6 Maxime Desmars (L) def. Ryan Miller, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, No. 1 Michael Fedoseyev/Wali (L) def. Barnes/A. Ciarrocchi, 8-5; No. 2 Clark/Cordesse (L) def. Brcan/F.Ciarrocchi, 8-4; and No. 3 T.C. Valle/Gary Bertoldo (L) def. Chauvette/Miller, 8-2.
