FLORENCE, S.C. - The Lander softball team has improved to 8-19 overall this weekend after the Bearcats won their first four games at the rain-delayed Patriot Invitational hosted by Francis Marion University.

On Saturday, the Bearcats defeated Mercyhurst, 5-4, then downed Chowan, 5-2.

On Sunday, Lander downed West Chester, 9-0, in six innings, defeated St. Andrews, 4-1, and lost to University of California PA, 3-2.
