MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lander volleyball team closed out the regular season Monday night when the Bearcats defeated Mars Hill College, 3-0, in a non-conference contest in Stanford Arena. Lander defeated the Lions, 25-9, 25-13, 25-18.

Lander improves to 22-10 overall, while Mars Hill drops to 8-19. The shutout was Lander's 12th of the season and the Bearcats' eighth win in their last 10 games.

Magi Nottingham spearheaded the Bearcats offense with 12 kills, while Marina Camps had 10 digs and Candace LaRocca 34 assists.

Mars Hill was led by Evie Tafunai (nine kills and nine digs), Lindsay Phillips (12 digs), and Sarah Paquette (12 assists).

Lander will play in the Peach Belt Conference tournament this weekend at UNC Pembroke.
