WAGRAM, N.C.----The Lander golf team jumped two places today in the final round of the St. Andrews Fall Invitational to finish fourth of nine teams at the 6,573-yard Deercroft Golf Club.
Lander, which shot 302 on Monday, improved seven shots to 295 today. Mount Olive won the team title with a low 583, followed by Limestone 591, Barton 592, Lander 597, St. Andrews Presbyterian 598, Newberry 606, Barton "B" 608, Queens 630 and North Carolina Wesleyan DNF.
For Lander, Jake Amos finished eighth overall with a 74-72=146. Other Lander golfers with place and scores were: Billy Belair (75-73) and Charlie Hoyle (72-76) 12th with 148, Cooper Tinsley 30th with 84-74=158, and David Connor 32nd with 81-79=159.
