SPARTANBURG----The USC Upstate volleyball team swept Lander 3-0 (30-21, 30-27, 30-23) Wednesday night in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Hodge Center.

The Spartans improve to 14-4 overall and 2-1 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 13-5, 0-3.

In three hard fought games the Spartans were once again led by senior Mandy Rupert who notched another double-double tonight with a team high 13 kills and 16 digs.  Jesicah Ambrisco joined in on the offensive attack with Rupert with nine kills and Morgan Bucciferro and Holly Mauldin combined for 40 assists.  Christina McLean tied Rupert with a team high 16 digs to lead the way on defense.

Lander was led by Kerri Sorensen with 11 kills, while Jennifer (JJ) Edwards chipped in with 28 assists and Sara Senn and Melissa Trippany had 16 and 22 digs respectively.
