GAFFNEY, S.C.—The No. 12-ranked Limestone College men's soccer team defeated No. 21 Lander, 2-1, Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.

Limestone's goals were scored by Bryan Blom and Tom Beattie. Joel Moran assisted on both goals.
Both teams were hungry for the win as Lander is ranked No. 3 in the region and Limestone holds the No. 2 slot.
Lander took a 1-0 lead when Nick Cooke netted a penalty kick.
Limestone fought back and saw its persistence pay off with less than a minute remaining in the first half as Blom headed the ball past Lander goalkeeper Garrett Daum to tie the game, 1-1. Beattie scored for the Saints in the 59th minute as he rifled a straight shot off of Moran's rebound to give Limestone the 2-1 lead.
