GREENWOOD – Fresh off its first Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship since 2020, the Lander men's basketball team has officially been announced as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
They will take on No. 7 seed Lincoln Memorial in the First Round on Saturday, March 14 at Abney Athletic Center in Anderson with the time yet to be announced.
With wins over USCA, Flagler and North Georgia during the PBC Tournament, the 25th-ranked Bearcats made program history in capturing both the PBC regular-season and conference tournament championships in the same season for the first time.
Jacob Daniels was named the PBC Tournament Most Valuable Player, and
Bobby Crawford Jr. and
Greyson Pritzl were named to the All-Tournament Team.
This is the third time in the last four seasons that Lander has made the NCAA Tournament. Currently sitting at 25-5, this season marks the most wins LU has had since 1998-99 – a year the Bearcats made a run to the Elite Eight.
The Bearcats will enter the tournament having won their last 10 games, and 16 of 17.
Lincoln Memorial finished the regular season at 18-10, 14-8 in the South Atlantic Conference and was fourth in the regular-season standings.
The Railsplitters won their SAC quarterfinal game versus fifth-seeded Carson-Newman by a final of 68-67 before losing to eventual champions – and No. 1 seed in the Southeast Region – Anderson on Friday, 66-61.
