BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kaia Morey received the Gulf South Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week award for the second consecutive week, it was announced today. This is the third time Morey has earned the award during her career.

Morey posted eight draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls across a pair of games last week for the Bearcats.

Against IUP on Wednesday, she had six draw controls, two caused turnovers and four ground balls to lead the Lander defense in a 14-11 win.

On Saturday versus No. 7 Slippery Rock, she collected two draw controls and a caused turnover.

Morey holds the conference lead with 21 caused turnovers – which is tied for sixth-most nationally – and leads the Bearcats with 17 draw controls.
