Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Picked Sixth in PBC Poll

MARTINEZ, Ga. – Both the Lander men's and women's track and field teams have been picked sixth in the Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced earlier this week.

Lander is coming off an indoor season that saw numerous program records fall and Tymia Willis capture the first two women's indoor PBC titles in program history. Willis won both the 200 meters and 400 meters at the 2026 PBC Indoor Championships in February.

Last outdoor season was also a historic one for the Bearcats, as the program earned its first weekly conference awards and Michael Balkman was named PBC Freshman of the Year at the 2025 PBC Outdoor Championships.

The outdoor season begins this weekend as Lander competes at the GottaRun Invitational, hosted by Southern Wesleyan, on March 13–14 at the Joe R. Gilbert Track and Field Complex in Central, S.C.
