Langley, Crosland, Dudley Power Bearcats Past Flagler on Senior Day

GREENWOOD - Behind standout performances from its senior leader and two rising stars, the Lander women's basketball team delivered a memorable Senior Day victory, defeating Flagler 80-64 Saturday afternoon at Finis Horne Arena.

Honoring seniors Quadaija Langley, Kayla Tilus, and Serenity Echols prior to tipoff, the Bearcats (8-14, 6-9 PBC) controlled the game from start to finish, leading for more than 39 minutes and never trailing. Lander used timely shooting, disruptive defense, and balanced scoring to secure its most complete offensive performance in weeks.

Langley, the program's veteran cornerstone, capped her Senior Day with a season-high 25 points, going 10-for-14 from the free throw line and adding six steals. The senior guard helped set the tone early, attacking the basket and creating extra possessions on the defensive end.

Freshman Lauren Crosland delivered a breakout performance, pouring in a career-high 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. Crosland's perimeter shooting stretched Flagler's defense and helped Lander build separation throughout the second half.

Junior guard Alindria Dudley added a career-high 19 points and a team-best eight rebounds, providing a consistent presence on both ends of the floor. Dudley was efficient offensively, shooting 7-of-12 from the field, while contributing three steals and helping anchor Lander's defensive pressure.

The trio combined for 64 of Lander's 80 points, accounting for 80 percent of the Bearcats' offensive production.

Lander's defensive intensity proved to be a decisive factor, forcing 25 Flagler turnovers and converting those opportunities into 27 points. The Bearcats also recorded 17 steals and outscored the Saints 15-6 in fastbreak points, creating momentum through transition offense.

After building a steady lead in the opening half, Lander used a strong third-quarter push and timely outside shooting to extend its advantage to as many as 18 points. Flagler shot 45.3 percent from the field, but struggled from beyond the arc, making just 4-of-21 attempts, while Lander knocked down 11 three-pointers.

Senior Serenity Echols contributed across the stat sheet with seven rebounds, two steals, and four points, while Kayla Tilus added two points, two rebounds, and two steals.

The Bearcats' ability to generate offense off turnovers, capitalize on perimeter opportunities, and lean on veteran leadership allowed them to maintain control throughout and secure a meaningful win in front of the home crowd.

Lander will return to action Monday, Feb. 16, traveling to USC Beaufort for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff in Bluffton, S.C. The matchup, originally scheduled for Jan. 31 and rescheduled multiple times, will finally be played as the Bearcats face a USC Beaufort squad that enters at 15-8 overall and sits second in the Peach Belt Conference standings with a 12-4 league mark.
