LANDRUM, S.C. – A week off from competition proved effective for the No. 8 Lander women's golf team as they captured a wire-to-wire win in the 2026 edition of the Glassy Mountain Autumn Classic across Monday and Tuesday at The Cliffs.
Lara Stifter earned individual medalist honors for the first time in her career at 5-over-par, two shots up on second place.
Joining Stifter near the top of the leaderboard and on the All-Tournament Team were
Sarah Reed (+8) and
Isabel Ewers (+13) in third and T4th, respectively, as Lander nabbed three of the top-five in the finishing order.
Emma Kallkvist was close behind in sixth place and also on the All-Tournament Team, her highest LU finish to date, at 15-over.
Josefine Winkle ensured all of the Bearcats' starting lineup was inside the top-15 by placing T12th and +20.
LU dominated all of its 14 opponents in the tournament and cleared second-place Belmont Abbey by 28 strokes. Catawba was a shot behind the Crusaders in third, with Barton and Union (Tenn.) also in the top-five.
It was Reed who held the lead after 18 holes Monday when she fired off a 4-under 68. Stifter was 10 shots back but rebounded with a 3-under 69 in the second round while Reed carded a 78 to pull Stifter within a stroke of Reed and five shots back of 36-hole leader Mary-Paige King of Catawba.
Stifter stayed the course and put together a 74 in the final round Tuesday to King's 81 to collect the come-from-behind trophy.
The Bearcats will soon turn their attention to Dahlonega, Ga., for next week's LeeAnn Noble Memorial on Oct. 12-13 at Achasta Golf Club.
