Sheeren Earns Second Wrestler of the Week Award of Season

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Sophomore Isaac Sheeren has been named the Conference Carolinas Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Tuesday. The honor marks the third weekly award of Sheeren's career.

It is the second consecutive week a Lander wrestler has earned weekly honors and the fifth such award of the season for the Bearcats, extending a new program record. It also marks the first time Lander has produced back-to-back weekly award winners since Gage Bernall (Nov. 22) and Darius Parker (Dec. 7) during the 2021–22 season.

The Houston, Texas native closed Lander's dual against second-ranked Life (NAIA) in dominant fashion, earning a 10-4 decision over third-ranked heavyweight Gabriel Jacobs. Sheeren scored three takedowns, forced multiple stall calls, and finished just two points shy of a major decision.

The 13th-ranked heavyweight in the country currently ranks third on the team in wins this season with 16, and has already accumulated 40 career victories in just a year-and-a-half at the collegiate level.
