GREENWOOD, S.C. – Lander wrestling head coach R.C. LaHaye has announced the addition of Garrett Lineberger as associate head coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.

"I cannot overstate how excited I am to have Garrett join our staff here at Lander," said LaHaye. "Our expectations and standards are extremely high, and I firmly believe he will elevate everyone around him. He is an outstanding coach, an exceptional mentor and will be a tremendous representative of the culture we have built within our program."

Lineberger brings an extensive coaching background that spans the NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III levels. As a competitor, he enjoyed one of the most decorated careers in NCAA Division II wrestling history, winning two NCAA Division II national championships while earning three All-America honors at Notre Dame College. He also served as a team captain and helped lead the Falcons to four NCAA Division II national championships.

The Bearcats continue to establish themselves among the nation's elite programs. Lander is coming off its fifth consecutive Conference Carolinas championship and fourth straight NCAA Super Region II championship. The Bearcats have also finished among the nation's top five teams in each of the past four seasons.

LaHaye also announced the addition of Brennan Watkins as a graduate assistant coach. Watkins competed at King University, where he was a two-time NCAA All-American and served as a team captain. He will assist the Bearcats during the 2026-27 season.
