Colin Lamb Hired as Director of Distance Running/Associate Head Track and Field Coach

GREENWOOD – Lander Athletics Director Brian Reese has announced the hiring of Colin Lamb as the Director of Distance Running and Associate Head Coach for Track & Field. Lamb joins the Bearcats after four seasons with the SMU cross country and track & field programs.

"I'd like to thank Brian Reese for the opportunity to help lead this program," said Lamb. "I was drawn to the position because I believe Lander has the opportunities and resources to be competitive at the conference and regional levels. I look forward to working with Coach Floyd and Coach Powers to help Lander Cross Country and Track & Field compete for Peach Belt Conference titles."

While at SMU, Lamb was primarily responsible for recruiting and helped bring in a 2025 signing class that featured two NCAA Cross Country Championship qualifiers. During his time with the Mustangs, the distance group also produced two NCAA West Regional qualifiers on the track and an All-ACC performer in cross country during the 2024 season.

"We want to welcome Colin to Greenwood and the Bearcat family," said Athletics Director Brian Reese. "His experience at the Division I level and his extensive knowledge will help us continue the positive momentum of Lander Cross Country and Track and Field."

Before his promotion to assistant coach, Lamb served two seasons as a volunteer assistant at SMU.

A 2021 graduate of the University of Dayton, Lamb was a key contributor to two Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship teams as a student-athlete.
