AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference released their 2024 Cross Country Preseason Poll on Monday morning that saw the Lander Men's Cross Country Team picked seventh and the Women's Cross Country team picked eighth as voted on by the league's coaches. The men nabbed 22 points while the women got 25. Both defending champions, Augusta for the men and Flagler for the women, were unanimously picked to win the conference again this season.
The Men of Lander are coming of their best finish at the PBC Championships since the reinstatement of the program back in 2017 as they placed sixth in 2023 while the women finished eighth in a stacked field that saw three teams eventually place in the top-ten at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Both teams start their season at the Eye Opener Invitational on September 6th, a meet that the Bearcats have started their season at in every season except three since 2017. The women will start the meet at 6:30 PM while the men follow at 7:10 PM.
