AUGUSTA, Ga. – After three days of competition at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament at tough Forest Hills Golf Club, the Lander men's golf team placed seventh with a team score of 891.
USC Beaufort won the tournament with a 13-under 851 team score, eight shots ahead of USC Aiken. North Georgia was third at -2.
Gaston Edberg (+1) placed 14th to lead the Bearcats. Edberg carded rounds of 72-74-71 and was particularly effective on par-5s with a 4.50 scoring average that tied for third-best in the field. He also led the team with 13 birdies for the week.
Aaron Lin tied for 29th with a 76-74-74 scoring output and seven birdies during the tournament.
One shot behind Lin was
Edward Rahm who went 76-74-75 while posting nine birdies over his three rounds.
Victor Larsson and
Noah Curdt both finished in a 35th-place tie with three-day scores of 230.
Lander will next compete in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in Howey-in-the-hills, Florida, May 8-10.
