Kohn Named Conference Carolinas Wrestler of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Graduate student Dylan Kohn has been named the Conference Carolinas Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. He is the second Lander wrestler to earn a weekly award this season, joining Isaac Sheeren, who got the nod in Lander's first week of competition.

Kohn went a perfect 3–0 at the Carolina Clash, delivering a major decision, tech fall, and pin to help the second-ranked Bearcats post a 3–0 mark with him in the lineup—including victories over two nationally ranked opponents.

The 11th-ranked wrestler in the country at 184, Kohn clinched Lander's win over #19 Newberry with a dominant 20–5 first-period tech fall, added a major decision in the Bearcats' 45-(–1) victory over Mount Olive, and secured Lander's fifth-ever top-10 win by pinning his opponent from #10 Glenville State.

The West Virginia transfer remains unbeaten at 7–0 this season, with six of his seven wins coming via bonus points.

The second-ranked Bearcats travel to Indianapolis this weekend for the Midwest Classic, the premier regular-season tournament in NCAA Division II. Action begins Saturday inside Nicoson Hall on the campus of the University of Indianapolis.
