AUGUSTA, Ga. - Less than 24 hours after falling in a five-set thriller, Lander flipped the script Saturday afternoon, earning redemption with a 3-1 victory (25-20, 25-15, 21-25, 25-21) over Augusta at the George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Â
The Bearcats (17-8, 9-4 Peach Belt) showcased resilience and efficiency, using a balanced attack and dominant defensive play to hand Augusta (22-7, 10-3 PBC) just its second home loss and third conference loss of the season.
Â
Katie Miller once again led the way for Lander, posting a match-high 23 kills to go along with 14 digs, her 14th double-double of the year. Miller also added 28 points, five blocks, and two aces, contributing in every phase of the game.
Â
The Bearcats hit .480 in the second set—an offensive surge that created separation after a tight opening frame. Setter
Enisilina Savelio distributed the ball efficiently, recording 38 assists and helping four different Bearcats finish with seven or more kills.
Â
Defensively, Lander's front line proved decisive. The Bearcats out-blocked Augusta 12-8, holding the Jaguars to a .113 hitting percentage for the match and forcing 25 attack errors. Sophomore middle
Amelia May anchored the net with six total blocks, while Miller and
Karson Browning each added five.
Â
Behind the front line, libero
Emmi Cheek steadied the backcourt with a match-high 23 digs, while Savelio chipped in 13 more as Lander out-dug Augusta 75-64.
Â
The win not only avenges Friday's narrow loss but also keeps Lander firmly in contention near the top of the Peach Belt standings entering the final weekend of the regular season.
Â
With the victory, the Bearcats improved to 9-4 in conference play, sitting just one match behind second-place Augusta (10-3) and two behind league-leading Flagler (11-2). Lander remains in a strong position for a top-three seed heading into the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
Â
The Bearcats return home to Horne Arena next weekend for a pivotal two-match series against Flagler on Nov. 14-15. The Saints enter the weekend on a 10-match win streak and sit atop the standings—but Lander claimed the first meeting between the two programs with a 3-1 win on the road earlier this season.

Friday's contest will also mark
