AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 20 Lander men's soccer team placed seven players on the Peach Belt All-Conference Team, it was announced this morning.
Christian Hatley was also named the PBC Offensive Player of the Year while
Charlie Bell earned the Elite 18 Academic Award.
Hatley was a First Team selection and was joined by Bell,
Callum Stokes and
Ryosuke Tanaka.
A trio of Bearcats were named to the Second Team:
Giacomo Sartori,
Josh Murray and
Conrad Knight.
Hatley scored six goals and led the conference with 11 assists and 23 points during his senior campaign. It's the second First Team selection for Hatley (2023), and his third PBC All-Conference nod overall.
Tanaka scored five goals and added three assists during the regular season – those 13 points placed him 10th in the conference. He also added a PBC Player of the Week award last month.
Stokes earned his first All-Conference nod after a season that saw him score six goals while adding one assist. He started every match and was the PBC Player of the Week following his four-goal outburst in a pair of wins over then-No. 19 North Georgia and USCA on Oct. 29 and Nov. 1.
Bell anchored a defense that produced four clean sheets this season, including three against conference opponents. He played in all 16 matches and tallied an assist at Lee in a 1-0 win on Oct. 11.
Sartori led the team with eight goals during the regular season which was second-most in the conference. Five of those came in the final six matches, and his 17 total points slotted him fifth in the PBC.
Murray was the PBC Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions this season (Oct. 6 and Oct. 27) while helping guide the Lander defense to four shutouts. He scored the first three goals of his career throughout his sophomore campaign.
Lander hosts Middle Georgia in tomorrow's PBC quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. at Van Taylor Stadium.
