Fuel Earns First All-Conference Honor in 16 Years as Bearcats Place Fifth at PBCs

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Carly Fuel added to her record-breaking season by becoming Lander's first All-Conference runner in 16 years, placing 15th overall in 19:28.1 to lead the Bearcats to a fifth-place team finish at the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Cross Country Championship on Friday.

The fifth-place result ties the program's best finish since being reinstated in 2017. Flagler claimed the team title for the eighth consecutive year.

Fuel's performance earned her the program's first All-Conference recognition since Olga Nunez-Lopez placed 12th at the 2008 championship—also held in Milledgeville, the final PBC meet before the program's hiatus.

Freshman Elizabeth Reid joined Fuel under the 20-minute mark, finishing 26th in 19:55.9, while sophomore Amara Hille placed 41st in 20:39.0. Junior Madeline Beal and sophomore Kayla Barnhardt rounded out the scoring five in 21:07.9 and 21:25.9, respectively.

Lander posted a 1–5 average of 20:31, matching its mark from earlier in the season at UNC Greensboro.

Junior Rachel Schenck finished sixth for the Bearcats in 21:32.9, followed by Sophie Bridges (21:52.9), Arianna Nabbie (22:47.1), and Emma Seay (23:53.4).

The Bearcats will wrap up the season on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the NCAA Southeast Regional at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C.
