AUGUSTA, Ga. – After finishing in the top-10 at the St. Simons Intercollegiate a week ago, Lander's
Sakurako Tanaka was named the Peach Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week this afternoon.
Tanaka finished tied for sixth place at +3 with rounds of 74, 74 and 71. She carded nine birdies throughout the tournament held at The King and Prince Golf Club while finishing with 38 pars – tied for third-most in a field of 100 competitors.
A senior from Saitama, Japan, Tanaka led the field in par-3 scoring average (2.67, four-under-par) as the Blue and Gold finished third out of 18 teams.
It marked the second third-place result for the Bearcats this season and was their third consecutive top-five.
Lander is currently competing in the LeeAnn Noble Memorial at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Georgia.
