GREENWOOD – Hosting the No. 5 team in Division II at Van Taylor Stadium in a noon kickoff on Saturday, the Lander men's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw with Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) in a non-conference tilt.
Lander (1-2-2, 1-0-0 Peach Belt Conference) and the Warhawks (2-0-3, 0-0-0 Gulf South Conference) each displayed some defensive prowess throughout the scoreless battle with both teams allowing just seven total shots in the game.
The Bearcats had three shots on net over the course of 90 minutes, though what appeared to be a
Christian Hatley goal in the 50th minute – a header – was negated as Hatley was ruled offside.
Keeper
Juan Rodriguez was tested with five shots on net, and once again, saved them all for his second consecutive clean sheet.
Lander stays home for its second PBC game this upcoming Wednesday (Sept. 25) versus Flagler. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Van Taylor Stadium.
