Montevallo, Ala. — Lander led wire-to-wire and knocked off Flagler Sunday afternoon to win their second-straight Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship.
The Bearcats scored seven straight goals to open the match up and led 7-1 after the first period. The Saints scored the first three goals of the second period to cut the Lander lead to three. Cater Wilcox found Kyle DeCrispino for his first goal of the match, and two minutes later, Quinn Ingalls scored on an assist from Krew Conroy to make a 9-4 game. The two teams traded goals down the stretch, and Lander took a 10-5 lead into the half.
The Bearcats outscored Flagler 5-3 in the third quarter to take a 15-8 lead. The Saints scored four goals in the final period, but Lander held off the rally to secure the championship.
DeCrispino led the Bearcats for the second straight game, scoring three goals and two assists. Ingalls scored three goals and one assist, and Conroy added four assists in the win. Nicholas Paige made 12 saves in goal to pick up the win.
DeCrispino was named the Tournament MVP for his play. Wilcox, Ingalls, Paige, and Britton Weems were named to the All-Tournament team.
