Bearcats drop Emmanuel to advance to the Conference Carolinas Final Four

GREENWOOD—For the first time in program history, the Lander Acrobatics & Tumbling team advanced to the Conference Carolinas Team Championship Final Four after defeating Emmanuel 244.735-241.275 Saturday afternoon. 

The Bearcats started with a 33.30 in the Compulsory Event. The highest score in that event came during the pyramid and toss heat, with Lander scoring 9.20. Next up, Lander scored 27.95 in the Acro Event, led by 9.75 in the 7 Element Heat.  

During the Pyramid Event, the Bearcats came away with a 27.95, recording a 9.50 in Heat One. Lander would go into the half leading Emmanuel 89.20-88.29. 

When Lander returned from halftime, they narrowly outscored the Lions 24.70-24.40 in the Toss event. The Bearcats started to pull away in the tumbling event, winning 50.475-47.775. The Lions would win the Team Event 80.81-80.36, but Lander held on for the win to advance to the Final Four.
