Philcox Named Conference Carolinas Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Acrobatics & Tumbling

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Lander senior Rhianna Philcox has been named the 2025-26 Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Acrobatics & Tumbling, the league office announced Tuesday.

The Scholar-Athlete Awards Presented by Hudl recognize one student-athlete in each Conference Carolinas-sponsored sport who has excelled both academically and athletically. Winners are selected by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher and earn both all-conference and academic all-conference honors in their respective sport.

Philcox recently graduated from Lander with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a minor in Political Science. She completed her academic career with a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA.

The honor adds to Philcox's impressive list of academic accolades. In May, she received the Thayer Award, Lander University's highest academic honor, presented annually to the graduating student with the highest cumulative GPA.

Philcox was also recognized as the Conference Carolinas Elite 26 recipient for Acrobatics & Tumbling. The award honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at each Conference Carolinas championship site and is modeled after the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award, formerly known as the Elite 90 Award.

In addition, Philcox earned a spot on the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association Academic Honor Roll, recognizing her continued excellence in the classroom.

Philcox's selection marks another significant achievement for Lander Acrobatics & Tumbling this season and highlights her commitment to academic success throughout her collegiate career.
