Orangeburg, S.C. — The 18th-ranked Lander Bearcats pounded out a 14-0 win over Claflin Friday night for their eighth-straight PBC victory and their 12th-straight overall.
After being held scoreless in the first inning, Lander would score three runs in the second inning and two in the third inning to take a 5-0 lead. The Bearcats broke the game open by scoring nine runs over their next three at-bats to cruise to the win.
Chris Manriquez led the Lander offense, going 3-4 with a run scored and three RBIs, and Taichi Nakao was 2-2 with a double, two runs scored, and two runs driven in. Chandler Moeller and Oliver Zohn each had a home run for the Bearcats. Kurt Rogers (4-0) picked up the win, allowing just one hit and striking out two in three innings.
