Bristol, Tenn. — Making their first appearance in the Conference Carolinas Semifinals, the Lander Bearcats avenged a loss earlier in the season to Coker, narrowly defeating the Cobras 255.320-255.115 to advance to the finals, where they will face the top seed Limestone tomorrow at 5:00 PM.
The Bearcats started with a 34.725 in the Compulsory Event. The highest score in that event came during the Tumbling Heat, with Lander scoring 9.075. Next up, Lander scored 28.175 in the Acro Event, led by 9.850 in the 7 Element Heat.
During the Pyramid Event, the Bearcats came away with a 28.00, recording a 9.825 in Heat One. Lander would go into the half trailing Coker 93.38-90.90.
When Lander returned from halftime, they narrowly outscored the Cobras 26.925-26.800 in the Toss event. The Bearcats closed the gap even more in the tumbling event, winning 50.875-48.550. The Bearcats would win the Team Event 86.620-86.390 to complete the comeback and get the win.
