DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Lander men's soccer team took a 2-1 road defeat at the hands of the University of North Georgia on Wednesday night in Peach Belt action.
For the game, Lander (2-6-5, 2-4-2 PBC) registered seven shots including four on goal. North Georgia had 15 shots and six on net while improving its record to 7-5-2 and 5-3-1 in the PBC.
The Nighthawks started the scoring in the 23rd minute before

Carlos Madrid for the equalizer in the final minute of the first half to knot things up at the break.
Defense was at a premium throughout much of the match and it was no different in the second half.
Callum Stokes was denied a goal by the UNG netminder 12 minutes into the closing half, and the other scoring chance the Bearcats saw came in the 81st minute, though
Giacomo Sartori was likewise unable to put one home.
UNG then broke the tie with 2:42 remaining and held on for the victory.
Senior Day is this Saturday (Nov. 2) for the Bearcats vs. Clayton State at 3:30 p.m. The teams played to a 1-1 draw last Saturday in Morrow, Ga.
