GREENWOOD - After three season serving as an assistant coach, Head Wrestling coach
R.C. LaHaye has promoted
Chris Freije to Associate Head Coach.
"Coach Freije has been an instrumental part of building Lander wrestling into one of the elite NCAA Div. II programs in the nation. I am extremely grateful for his hard work commitment, and I am honored to give him this well-earned promotion."
Since coming to Greenwood, Freije has helped the Bearcats send wrestlers to three consecutive NCAA National Championships which featured a second-place finish last season.
LaHaye has also added
Logan Hall to the staff as a graduate assistant.Â
Hall was a national runner-up at the 184 weight class last season. He was also an All-American, Super Region II Champion, Super Region II Wrestler of The Year, 2022-23 NWCA Wrestler of The Year finalist, NWCA Scholar All-American and set the Lander wrestling single-season wins record last season.
