TAMPA, FLA. - A late goal from Rob Dymond in the 84th minute of play helped the Lander men's soccer team tie the Tampa Spartans 2-2 on the road Wednesday afternoon.
Lander moves to 0-3-2 overall while Tampa moves to 1-1-2 overall.
How It Happened
Neither squad was able to score in the first half. The Spartans did outshoot the Bearcats four to one, but neither side was able to get anything on net. Three of Tampa's shots were blocked by the Blue and Gold in the first frame of action.
The second half would see sparks fly from both sides.
Tampa was first to score, as the Spartans struck in the 55th minute of play.
Lander would get on the scoreboard after a shot from Charlie Bushby was deflected in by a Spartan to tie the game 1-1 in the 59th minute.
Tampa would retake the lead in the 81st minute before Dymond got Lander even once again with Julien Sagnol and Rashawn Kellman assisting.
