Cross Country Announces 2023 Schedule

GREENWOOD - Head Cross Country Coach, Aaron King, announced his team's schedule for the upcoming season on Wednesday. The schedule will see the Bearcats run in three states and run on some of the most popular courses in the southeast region.

The Blue and Gold will open the season on September 1st at the Jaguar Cross Country Invitational hosted by Augusta University. The hosting Jaguars have won the last four PBC Titles on the men's side.

After a week off, the Bearcats will be back in action on September 16th as they head to Spartanburg to take part in the Converse Kick-Off at Milliken Arboretum. This is a course that is familiar with almost every single Lander runner since the program restarted in 2017 as Lander has run at the Arboretum every season except the truncated fall 2020 season.

The next race for Lander will take them to the midlands and the Akiah McMcillan Invitational hosted by Columbia College on September 30th. This is another familiar meet for the program as the Bearcats have sent a team to it in every season but the 2019 season.

The last regular season meet for the Bearcats will see them race at the Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C. on October 6th. McAlpine is widely regarded as one of the faster courses in ther region as the terrain is mainly flat the whole course.

The final two meets for the Bearcats will see them run at the same course at the Gainesville Campus of the University of North Georgia as the Blue and Gold compete in the PBC Championships on October 21st and the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on November 4th.

The NCAA National Championships will be held on November 18th in Joplin, Mo. hosted by Missouri Southern State University.
