HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Lander University Athletic Communications staff was honored with the 2022-23 Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Staff of the Year Award on Tuesday night at the league's annual awards dinner in Hilton Head.
Under the direction of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Media Thomas Holland, the Lander Athletics Communication Office provides outstanding coverage for the largest athletic department in the conference. With 27 intercollegiate, club, and JV teams managed by Lander Athletics, the office oversees social media, photography, publicity and manages landerbearcats.com, the official website of Lander Athletics.
Additionally, the communications staff worked closely with Director of Marketing, Productions, & Fan Engagement Justin Burger to produce 369 home broadcasts of athletic events on the Bearcat Broadcasting Network, part of the PBC Sports Network. This did not include PBC Championship broadcasts of men's soccer and men's lacrosse, both of which were won by Lander on their home field.
Holland is joined in the Athletics Communication office by Assistant Sports Information Directors Hunter Julius and Turner Kirby, along with graduate assistant Amanda Scott.
This is the second SID Staff of the Year award for Lander. The Bearcats also won in 2016 under former Assistant Athletic Director Bob Stoner.
