MARTINEZ, Ga. - Lander University pitcher Kamryn Akins has been named the Peach Belt Softball Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday. 

Kam had a career day on Saturday, helping the Bearcats defeat #2 North Georgia, throwing her first career complete game. She shut the Nighthawks out, allowing just four hits and striking out three as the Bearcats snapped a 35-game losing streak to North Georgia.
