GREENWOOD - For the first time since 2016, the Lander baseball team has swept the Young Harris Mountain Lions in the regular season after taking a 7-4 victory at Dolny Stadium on Sunday.
Lander moves to 22-24 overall and 15-12 in the PBC in the PBC while Young Harris drops to 33-14 overall and 21-9 in the PBC.
Lander is now riding a four-game winning streak and hands Young Harris its first series sweep of the season.

Matthew Burgess and Gary Garrett both recorded two hits while three other Bearcats recorded an RBI against the Mountain Lions.
Lander was the first to score in the third game of the series. After sending a one-out triple to left field, Will McClellan would score on a sac fly from Connor Droze for the opening run.

Young Harris would counter with an RBI double to left field to tie the game at 2-2.
Four runs came across for Lander in the bottom of the second.
The inning began with back-to-back singles from Burgess and Garrett while a throwing error allowed Oliver Zohn to reach safely and Garrett to score.
Droze then drew out a one-out walk to load the bases before Martino unleashed a triple to right-center field to push the Bearcats in front 6-1.
After a scoreless third, McClellan would send a sac fly to score Zohn who had doubled earlier in the inning.
Young Harris got back on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth with an RBI single and an RBI double to get within three runs of Lander.
The Bearcats would shut down the Mountain Lions for the rest of the game to take all three games from Young Harris.
