Augusta, Ga. - The Bearcats secured their second Peach Belt Conference Championship since 2013, and the first under Coach
Mark Riddle. Women's golf led the entire championship, shooting a 923 (310+304+309) to bring the title back to Greenwood.
Following Lander was #16 Flagler, who jumped up two spots to finish in second. North Georgia would fall to third in the tournament.
Sakurako Tanaka shot up three places on the leaderboard to claim the individual champion honors. Tanaka finished the championship with a daily low on Sunday of 74, totaling 227 through three rounds. Tanaka had a team-high of seven birdies for an 11-over-par performance.
There was a four-way tie for sixth, with three golfers being Bearcats.
Hannah Stephenson,
Kajsa Lindqvist, and
Ella Nilsson ended the championship shooting a 232 at 16-over-par.
Caroline Hardee finished in 21st at 32-over-par.Â
With Sunday's first place finish, the Bearcats have earned an automatic qualifying bid in the NCAA Regionals starting May 8th.
