AMERICUS, Ga. – The Lander baseball team would fall to Georgia Southwestern in the second game of the series 10-1 at Hurricane Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Connor Droze and Chandler Moeller led the team with a hit each while Moeller reached on a double.
Dalton Stroud, Will McClellan and Droze all had stolen bases as well.
Lander drops to 5-12 overall and 3-5 in the PBC while GSW advances to 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the PBC.
Both teams would be locked in a draw for the first two innings before the Hurricanes opened the game up in the third with four runs.
GSW would score consistently score for the remainder of the game with just two innings seeing the Hurricanes not plate a run going forward.
Lander scored its lone run of the game in the sixth inning on a sac fly from Ethan Wilder to right field that scored Stroud.
Evan Demurias got the start and picked up the loss. He went four innings where he allowed five runs, all earned, on four hits while walking four and striking out one.
Dawson Campbell and Garrett Major also saw relief appearances.
The Bearcats and Hurricanes conclude the series on Sunday with a 1 pm start.
