Sumter, S.C. - The Bearcats routed the USC Sumter Fire Ants in a 8-1 victory on Thursday. The match was scored using the junior college point system, with each Doubles match counting as a team point.
The team of
Emilien Baradel and Ludwig Danielsson, took care of business in No.2 Doubles with a 8-4 win. Nicholas Chan and
Jack Coleman shutout their opponents in No.3 Doubles, scoring eight.
Markus Sorensen represented No.1 Singles, and was pushed to a tiebreaker set but overcame 4-6, 6-3 [10-4]. Chan and Baradel continued their winning ways after 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-3 respectively.
Benjamin Bates allowed only three set points in a 6-2, 6-1 victory, while Danielsson added another point for the Bearcats in a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
David Velasco earned the final point for Lander, dominating 6-1, 6-0.
The Bearcats won't return to the court again until next week when the host Newberry on March 21st at 2 pm.Â
