Greenwood, S.C. - Acrobatics & Tumbling opened the 2023 season with a win against Mars Hill on Monday. Lander scored 238.390 and Mars Hill scored 231.415.
The Bearcats started off the night scoring a 36.80 in the Compulsory event. The highest heat score was a 9.85 during the Pyramid Heat. In the Acro event, Lander earned a 23.50, including a 8.95 in the 5-Element Heat, which was one-point off the start value.
The Acrobats of Lander scored 28.30 in the Pyramid event, earning two 9.35's in the Inversion and Open Heats. By halftime, the Bearcats were leading Mars Hill 88.60 to 82.75.
Once the action restarted, Lander got to work in the Toss Event where they scored 22.65. Next up, the Bearcats dazzled in the Tumbling event, scoring a 48.750. The highlight of this event was a 9.0 out of 9.8 that was scored in the 6-Element Pass. Lander finished the night with the Team event, earning a 78.39.
Acrobatics & Tumbling is back on the mats at Finis Horne Arena next Monday at 6 pm. They take on the King Tornado.
