Florence, S.C. - Women's tennis dropped their first match of the season against Newberry at the City of Florence College Tennis Invitational. This was a rematch of last season's final.
Fe Batoon and Hannah Panchal were the highlight of the Doubles round. The duo won 6-1 against their Newberry foes. Sina Albersmeier and Mille Elsborg fell 2-6 and Maranda Adair and Emily Ineson lost 1-6.
Albersmeier dropped 3-6, 2-6 in No. 1 Singles, as well as Elsborg falling 2-6, 0-6 in No. 2 Singles. Panchal was defeated 0-6, 1-6 in No. 5 Singles.
Lander will return home to host Carson-Newman next Friday, Feb. 10th at 2:00 pm
