Women's Tennis Falls to Belmont Abbey 3-4

Box Score Greenwood, S.C. - The Bearcats dropped their first home match this season to Belmont Abbey in a close 3-4 match. Lander is now 4-3 on the season in non-conference play.

Women's tennis earned the Doubles point, winning two out of three matches. Emily Ineson and Mille Elsborg took care of No. 1 Doubles in a 6-4 victory. Chiara Gerbino and Hannah Panchal also defeated their opponents in No. 2 Doubles 6-2.

The second point of the match came from Elsborg in No. 1 Singles. She almost earned a shutout in her 6-1, 6-0 performance. Panchal secured the last Bearcat point in No. 5 Singles. She was pushed to tie-breakers in both sets, but eventually came out on top 7-6[8-6], 7-6[7-5].

Lander returns to the court on Thursday, March 2nd as they host Francis Marion at 2:00 pm.
