Greenwood, S.C. - Acrobatics & Tumbling defeated their second consecutive ranked opponent, beating #14 Presbyterian 255.195-247.700.
Lander started off the night earning a 36.95 in the Compulsory event. The Bearcats scored nines or better in three out of the four heats. More high scoring came in the Acro event; the highest score was a 9.55 in the third heat comprised of Taryn Laurence, Abby Billings, Cristyn Reynolds, and Kenzie Kocher.
The first two heats of the Pyramid event brought a pair of 9.75 scores out of 10, extending the lead. The team went into halftime with a 92.45-85.20 score, leading by 7.25.
The Bearcats rolled into the second half beginning with the Toss event. The highest score in this event was 8.95, coming in the first heat (450 Salto). Lander's acrobats dazzled in the Tumbling event, totaling 51.425. Ryann Swope earned a 9.500 in the 6-Element heat, giving the Bearcats a 168.275-159.150 advantage.
Lander closed out the night scoring an 86.920 in the Team event, the only event that the acrobats were outscored. The lead remained, as the Bearcats won 255.195-247.700.
Acrobatics & tumbling will take their first road trip of the season when they visit Chowan for a tri-meet also involving #8 Converse. This tri-meet takes place on Saturday, March 18th at 5:00 pm.
