Greenwood, S.C. - The Bearcats were victorious in their second meet of the season in memorable fashion. Lander defeated King, the No. 11 team in the nation, 258.970-249.765, outscoring the Tornado in all but two events.
Acrobatics & tumbling started the night scoring a 38 out of 40 in the Compulsory event. The Bearcats shined in the second heat, scoring a 9.80 out of 10.
Lander would then score a 26 in the Acro event, led by a 9.85 during Heat 1 (5-Element). The Bearcats closed out the half earning a 28.45 out of 29.90, with no score less than a 9.
The Bearcats opened the second half leading 92.45-85.60. The next event was the Toss, where Lander scored 25.55, followed by a 52.10 in the Tumbling event.
Acrobatics & tumbling ended the meet with a 88.87 in the Team event to give them a meet total of 258.970. The Bearcats follow up this historic victory next week as they take on the Presbyterian next Thursday (Feb. 23) at 5 pm.
