AMERICUS, GA. - The Lander men's soccer team recorded its fourth consecutive shutout as Lorenzo Ferrari made three saves in a 0-0 tie against Georgia Southwestern on the road Saturday evening.
Lander moves to 4-2-4 overall and 3-0-2 in the PBC while Georgia Southwestern moves to 5-3-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the PBC.
While neither team was able to score, the Bearcats put 4-of-9 shots on goal while the Hurricanes put 3-of-6 shots on goal.
The Bearcats put their first shot of the game on net, as Jed Smith put a shot in the bottom center of the goal that was eventually saved in the third minute. Marco Gueli was next to put a shot on goal for Lander, this time coming in the 21st minute of play.
Ferrari made his first save of the game in the 27th minute, saving a shot put towards the bottom left of the goal. Ferrari made two of his three saves in the first frame of action, with his last coming in the 63rd minute of play in the second half.
Over the last four contests, the Bearcats have allowed no goals while scoring two goals and have gone 2-0-2 over that span. Ferrari is now 1-0-2 with three consecutive shutouts to begin his tenure in goal for Lander.
Lander returns home to host Flagler on Wednesday, September 28 as part of a two-game home stand.
