AMERICUS, Ga. - Lander held on to defeat Georgia Southwestern 4-1 Sunday afternoon in their final game of teh regular season and clinch the third seed in the Peach Belt Championship hosted by Lander May 6-7.

With ont out, Naya Jones singled up the middle and Shannon Antonini followed with an infield single. Both runners would move up 60 feet on a Hurricane error. Jones then scored on a wild pitch to give the Bearcats the lead. |

Antonini led off with a bunt single and would advance to second on a sacrifice bunt by Barbara Cook. Abbie Behe then reached on a fielder's choice when the Hurricanes tried to get Antonini out. Anonini scored when Olivia Veidt reached on a fielder's choice to make it 2-0. Haven Pesce and Gracie Derrick each added RBI's to make it a four run game heading to the bottom of the seventh. |
