ROME, Ga. - Lander outscored Shorter 13-1 in the second and third quarters to blow open a two goal lead and cruised to a 23-7 win over the Hawks Saturday night in their regular season finale and locking up a spot in the Gulf South Conference Championship for the first time in program history.

1st Quarter |
Melissa Clapsaddle got the Bearcats on the board three minutes into the game on an assist by Lauren Fallow and Mickey Burnett added a goal a minute later to make it 2-0. After the Hawks scored to make it 2-1, Emmy Peterson scored her first goal of the game to put the lead back at two. Peterson added her second goal of the game with 2:15 remaining in the period to make it a 4-2 game. |
2nd Quarter |
Shorter would score 30 seconds into the second quarter to cut the Bearcat lead to one. Peterson and Clapsaddle answered to make it a 6-3 game with ten minutes left in the half. With the score 6-4, Lander would score four straight goals to make it 10-4. Mickey Burnett and Clapsaddle added a gaol each lat in the quarter as the Bearcats took a 12-5 lead into the break. |
3rd Quarter |
Lander would hold Shorter scoreless in the third quarter as they continued to build their lead. The Bearcats two goals from Alyssa Suchan and Emma Arifin, as well as one goal from Amelia McCauley, Burnett, and Clapsaddle to give Lander a 19-5 lead heading into the final period. |
4th Quarter |
Mary Claire Robinson, Burnett, Peterson and Suchan each scored in the fourth quarter as the Bearcats rolled to victory. |
