GREENWOOD - With the score tied at three late in the first quarter, the Bearcats held Young Harris scoreless for 34:51 and outscored the Mountain Lions 10-0 in that span and went on to win 19-9 Tuesday afternoon.

The Mountain Lions scored a minute and a half into the game to take the early lead, but a goal by Melissa Clapsaddle with just under 11 minutes remaining tied the game at one. Trailing 2-1, Emmy Peterson found Alyssa Suchan for a goal with 9:55 remaining in the quarter to tie the game at two. Five minutes later, Peterson scored her first goal to give Lander the lead. Young Harris tied the game at three with 4:32 remaining, but less than a minute later, Suchan scored her second goal of the game to give the Bearcats the lead back. |

Lander would shut the Mountain Lions out in the second quarter and get two more goals by Peterson as well as one from Clapsaddle and Suchan to make it 8-3 at the half. |

The Bearcats scored five straight goals to start the third quarter to take a commanding 13-3 lead. After the Mountain Lions finally scored two goals to cut the lead to eight, Izzy Olsen would score on an assist by Mickey Burnett and Clapsaddle scored on an assist from Suchan to make it a 10-goal lead heading into the final period. |
