Greenwood, S.C. - Lander takes home eighth place at their host tournament on Tuesday held at the Greenwood Country Club. Hannah Stephenson was honored as a part of the Lady Bearcat Invitational all-tournament team after a second-place tie.
Lee University finished in first place, shooting 25-over-par with a 601 (306+395) team score, moving up two spots. Columbus State took second place honors scoring 608, and Lincoln Memorial scored 610 to round out the top three. Lander had a team score of 620 (320+300) for the tournament.
Stephenson shot two-over-par through both rounds, finishing the last round at three-under-par to jump up twenty places from Monday. Ella Nilsson ended the day tied for 14th at eight-over-par. Gracie McCoy finished the afternoon in a 32nd place tie shooting 13-over-par. Caroline Hardee finished in 74th shooting 22-over-par, while Emily Beiers rounded out the first Lander team to finishing one shot behind Hardee at 23-over-par.
The second Lander team finished top 20 in 17th place. Chloe Hiott ended the day in a 32nd place tie with a 13-over-par performance. Caitlyn Cash tied for 41st shooting 15-over-par. Alayna Fortenberry shot 26-over-par to finish tied for 90th. Victoria Callahan took 100th place and Elizabeth Bradley tied for 105th with 29-over-par and 35-over-par performances respectively. Marley Barefoot competed as an individual, tying 107th with 36-over-par.
Women's golf will switch gears as they move onto post-season play. The Peach Belt Championships begin on April 15th in St. Simons Island, Ga.
