Dahlonega, Ga. - In their first PBC match of the season, the Bearcats lost 6-1 to the University of North Georgia. 

The Nighthawks defeated the Bearcats for the Doubles point, winning every match. Emily Ineson and Mille Elsborg, as well as Hannah Panchal and Raquel Acco both fell 6-2. Chiara Gerbino and Roberta Armani were defeated 6-3. 

The point for Lander came in No. 1 Singles where Gerbino defeated her opponent 6-7, 6-3. Maranda Adiar competed in No. 2 Singles falling 6-1 in two sets. Elsborg and Acco filled the No. 3 and No. 4 Singles spots. Elsborg lost 6-2, 7-6 and Acco was defeated 6-1, 7-6. The No. 5 Singles competitor Panchal dropped two sets of 6-3 and Armani fell 6-1, 6-4. 

The Bearcats look to get their first Peach Belt win of the season on Monday, at Young Harris at 2 p.m.
