Bearcats Earn 1-1 Split at Mars Hill Tri-Meet

Greenwood, S.C. - Acrobatics & tumbling took a business trip on Thursday evening, coming away with a victory and loss at the Mars Hill Tri-Meet. The Bearcats finished with a score of 255.885, defeating Mars Hill's 236.315, but behind Coker's 261.860. 

Lander came in second during the Compulsory event, finishing with 34.15. The toss heat score of 9.45 was the highest of that event. The Acro event followed with the highest score of the three teams for the Bearcats at 28.30. Heat 3 of this event garnered a 9.65, which was the highest of the entire Acro event. During the Pyramid event, Lander scored 28.20, earning 9.45's in both Heat 1 (Inversion) and Heat 3 (Open). The Blue and Gold had a first half score of 90.65, 1.7 shy of first. 

The Bearcats opened the second half with a 25.50 Toss event total following three heats. During the Tumbling event, Lander earned the best score of the three schools, scoring 52.225 out of 55.55. The Acrobatics & tumbling team finished the night with the Team event totaling 87.51.

Lander will host a tri-meet of their own next Wednesday, March 23rd against Chowan and Belmont Abbey at 5 p.m.
