GREENWOOD - Coming off the program's first Final Four appearance last season, the Lander University women's basketball team prepares to make another run in the NCAA Championship Tournament as they open up the Southeast Regional tomorrow at 2:30 PM against seventh-seed Catawba.

STORYLINES
- Lander is making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth-straight season.
- In that span, the Bearcats have made the Sweet Sixteen twice, the Elite Eight once, and made the program's first Final Four appearance last season.
- Over those eight seasons, Lander has one of the best records in Division II at 190-50 and has won two regular-season Peach Belt Championships and two tournament championships.
- Makaila Cange was named Co-Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference in the Peach Belt. Amiaya Melvins and Miriam Recarte were named Third-Team All-Conference, and Sarah Crews won the Elite 16 Academic Award.
- Lander holds a 3-0 lead over Catawba in the series but has not played the Indians since 2009 when the Bearcats won 77-68.
- Lander finished the regular season second in the Peach Belt, while Catawba finished third in the South Atlantic Conference.
- Against common opponents, Lander was 5-0 and Catawba 7-3.
- Lander finished the regular season leading the Peach Belt in scoring (79.7), scoring margin (19.4), assists (478), assist to turnover ratio (1.07), and assists per game (18.4). Their 18.4 assists per game also is second best in all of Division II.
- .Cange led the conference in scoring at 19.4 points per game while also leading in field-goal percentage (67.3) and offensive rebounds per game (4.6). Her 67.3% shooting percentage is also second in the country.
- Recarte also led the PBC in blocked shots (76) and blocked shots per game. Her 2.92 blocked shots per game rank her fifth in Division II.
